IIAA Anti-Ageing Exercise Success in London and Glasgow
Professor Wayne Derman presented the anti-ageing benefits of exercise to an intrigued audience of therapists, personal trainers and health professionals, at seminars in London and Glasgow this week. Professor Derman told delegates that 30 minutes of moderate cardio-vascular exercise 5 days a week, coupled with some strength and weight training, could be the difference between healthy, agile older life and a retirement plagued with age-related diseases.
Prof Derman also noted that it was never to late or too early to start exercising and this highly practical seminar revealed the anti-ageing benefits of exercise, what types of exercise provide an anti-ageing effect and the components of physical fitness. He also explained the types of exercise that work best for different ages as well as the basic prevention of sports injuries.
Prof. Derman is one of the iiaa panel experts and has advised many on the benefits of physical fitness and exercise; from cosmonauts and Olympic athletes to major international sports teams.
The world renowned expert on exercise is also a pioneer in the study of exercise for the rehabilitation and prevention of age-related diseases like diabetes, cardiovascular disease and degeneration of muscle and brain.
Delegates were advised on the planning of an exercise regimen to maximise the anti-ageing effects, how to track changes in fitness, measure body composition and know what happens to the body during and after exercise.
Said delegate salon owner Jane Harris from Hampshire, “Today was excellent - thanks to Wayne, I now know that getting fit is much more achievable, even with the busiest of lifestyles.”
